Prosecco has quickly become one of the most popular sparkling wines world-wide today. Prosecco is made from the white grape, Glera in the Veneto region of Italy. This expressive grape is prized for its delicate flavors and aromatics. Prosecco is made through the Charmat method, which creates a moderate effervescence and a food-friendly palate. The flavor is fresh and clean, showing a good blend of baked apple, sour lemon and grapefruit, with a light, creamy mineral texture and some toast on the palate. The finish is light, refreshing, and crisp. Â In 2007, this winery was awarded a "Top 100 Wines of the Year" by Wine Spectator. Â La Marca is the only Prosecco producer from the Veneto region to be awarded this honor.
